THE BUSHHOUNDS
Our Story
The band started out in the Tampa Bay area in 1995 with Tim Coyle and Kenny Steven’s on guitar, Bobby Koehler on bass, Mike Poulin on drums and Carlos DeAnza on vocals.
They wrote original music and played around the Tampa Bay area. They drew some attention from music magazines, Groove, Jam and others which led them to be signed by Copper Plate Records.
They started getting some air time and interviews on the radio. Thunder 105.5FM made them a featured band in their Southern Fried BBQ weekend contest.
They had their first break opening up for Marshall Tucker at Jannus Landing. They were featured on a Cable TV show called The Music Shop, They played at Live Stock 11 and 12.
Artimus Pyle, Hall of Fame drummer from Lynyrd Skynyrd fame asked the Bushhounds after a show if they would like to go on tour to support his band All Points Bulletin.
That tour created opportunities to be the supporting act for Molly Hatchett, .38 Special, Southern Rock Allstars, Nazareth, Great White, Ratt, Fire House, Sebastian Bach, Cheap Trick, Steppenwolf, Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show, and many more on numerous occasions. They have recorded 5 CD’s.
